Tampa Bay Business Journal: KeriCure strikes deal with Publix

KeriCure Inc. will be selling its wound care products in 855 Publix stores starting next month.

KeriCure, a Tampa-based, woman-owned small business, struck a deal to sell its skin protectant product line in 616 Publix stores throughout Florida and in 239 locations throughout Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama, a statement said. It’s scheduled to be available at Publix as of Sept. 13.

The products have been sold at Kroger (NYSE: KR) stores throughout the south for the past month. Adding Publix Super Markets, headquartered in Lakeland, is key for KeriCure since both are Florida-based companies, said Kerriann Greenhaigh, founder, chairman and CEO.

Greenhaigh designed the technology when she was in graduate school at University of South Florida and KeriCure has exclusively licensed the HydroShield Technology.

“It’s a natural approach to wound care,” she said. “We took a different approach to liquid bandages. There’s no sting and it provides a barrier that mimics the natural properties of the skin.”

The product is manufactured in Tampa at Smart Science Labs and packaged at the MacDonald Training Center.
KeriCure is working with Cox Media Group on a marketing campaign for Florida.
