KeriCure INC. Receives its First FDA 510(k) Clearance
KeriCure’s line of Invisible Bandages is the first liquid bandage cleared by the FDA for use on abrasions, closed surgical incisions and excisions.
Tampa, Florida, August, 2014 – KeriCure Inc.™, manufacturer of Natural Seal™ Invisible Bandage, is pleased to announce that they have received their first FDA 510(k) clearance for their innovative liquid bandage product lines, to be sold over the counter and by prescription only for certain indications.
This FDA clearance now allows KeriCure to launch its Advanced Seal Liquid Bandage as a prescription product for use by medical professionals to cover and protect closed surgical incisions and excisions from infections, amongst the many other uses.
The FDA clearance will also prompt a facelift to the company’s “on the go” invisible bandage product, KeriCure Skin Protectant, with new indications for use as well as improvements to the applicator and packaging. The KeriCure formulas now stand alone as the ONLY over-the-counter liquid bandage products with FDA approved indications to help cover and protect the skin from infection in minor cuts, scrapes, burns, irritations and abrasions!
The ever advancing KeriCure technology is based on a polyacrylate nanoparticle technology developed by KeriCure founder Dr. Kerriann Greenhalgh that provides safe and effective topical wound and skin care products never before seen on the market. Dr. Greenhalgh, a PhD organic chemist from the University of South Florida, founded KeriCure Inc. after seeing a need for a more effective option to preventing infections in minor cuts and scrapes for people and their pets.
While other “liquid bandage” products use alcohols, acetones, and super glues to provide wound protection, KeriCure products harness the natural healing powers of WATER and a proprietary polyacrylate polymer that Dr. Greenhalgh designed to mimic the natural barrier properties of the skin while providing a comfortable germ stopping barrier.
